What Moves the Price of a COREtec Installation
Nobody can quote a rigid-core floor off a phone call, and any contractor who does is guessing. The numbers that actually move on a COREtec job are these:
- Square footage and layout. Open floors run faster per square foot than a warren of small rooms, closets, and hallways full of cuts.
- Which line you pick. COREtec Plus, Plus Enhanced, Plus XL, Pro Plus, and One are priced differently, and the wider or more textured the plank, the more the material costs.
- What comes out first. Carpet and pad are quick. Glued-down vinyl, ceramic tile, and a floor with a failed subfloor underneath are not.
- Subfloor prep. Grinding high spots, filling low spots, and moisture testing a slab are the difference between a floor that lies flat for 20 years and one that clicks underfoot in year two.
- Transitions, trim, and stairs. Thresholds, quarter round, reducers at doorways, and any stair nosing all add labor and material.
